The EGM’s vocation is to offer the most advanced courses possible, with rigorous content, whether in the framework of workshops, courses preparing for the EGM certificate, or for the preparation of the Gem-A gemmologist diploma.
But the transmission of the passion for gems is not limited to the school’s premises! Thus, the EGM regularly organizes trips to discover production sites as well as working methods. Students and enthusiasts were able to go to Tahiti in 2000, Brazil in 2012, Tanzania in 2013, Burma in 2015, Sri Lanka in 2016… and a new destination is part of our projects!
The school is also present at various trade fairs. For example, the Montreal Stone, Mineral and Fossil Show (which will take place from September 11 to 13, 2020) is an opportunity for students to meet professionals, but also to practice “live” gem identification. The school is also present at the world’s largest mineral show, the Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase. This is an opportunity to discover incredible gems and minerals.
The video that follows is a joyful mix of these discoveries and experiences…
We hope it will make you dream, and make you want to know a little more about the fabulous world of gemmology!
