There are no prerequisites for this course.
This is a required course for students enrolled in EGM’s Gem-a Diploma Course and students who plan to take EGM’s Rough Diamond Grading and Valuation course. EGM students who have taken Gemmology 1, 2, 3, & 4 must also complete this course before sitting the EGM Certificate in Gemmology exam.
What You’ll Learn
Through a series of practical exercises using carefully selected specimens from our collection students will learn how to apply the 4C’s of facetted diamond grading. Participants learn how Colour, Clarity, Carat, and Cut are judged by professionals to determine a diamond’s quality.
Students will also learn about common diamond imitations and how to distinguish them from natural diamonds.
What You’ll Receive
Students receive an EGM diamond grading manual designed to help them retain what they see in class and serve as a valuable reference for the future.
Students who successfully complete the class and pass the practical exam will receive a letter of completion from EGM
