Gemmologist and gem and jewellery merchant
In 2005, Nicki received the two highest honours and prizes awarded by Gem-A; the Anderson Medal and the Hirsh Foundation Award for outstanding achievement on her Foundation course exams. In 2006 Nicki won the prestigious Christies Prize awarded to a student working in the jewellery industry who achieves the highest grade worldwide on their Diploma exam papers.

Nicki's knowledge of gems and her connoisseur's eye for beauty (she holds a BA in Art History) serve her well as president of Nikmak her company specializing in the sale of rough crystals, gems, and jewellery.  Students appreciate Nicki's dedication and her willingness to share beautiful and often rare specimens from her own collection.

Nicki teaches Gemmology 1,2,3,4, and 5 in both English and French.  She also teaches FGA preparatory classes and is responsible for much of the detailed practical training required for students in this program.
