Our Teachers
Additional teaching staff
EGM is fortunate to be able to draw from a vast pool of experienced professionals whose passion for gemmology makes them regular contributors to our gem and jewellery training programs. Each one, accomplished in their respective fields, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with EGM students. Michel Auzat, certified gemmologist FCGmA and crystallographer, uses his exceptional personal collection of rough crystals to teach FGA students about the stunning symmetry of gem formation. Greg Krach is a certified gemmologist FCGmA as well as an accomplished lapidary, miner, and perhaps North America's leading authority on opal grading. Greg was instrumental in developing the EGM Opal Grading workshop. He continues to teach this course and share his phenomenal collection of opals with our students. Louis Assaf is a certified gemmologist FCGmA and master setter who has welcomed EGM students to his studio to demonstrate the importance of understanding a gems physical properties before setting them in Jewellery. Yves St-Pierre is an experienced and innovative lapidary whose demonstrations allow students to witness the remarkable transformation from rough to polished gemstone. Other contributors include watch expert Bertrand Le Diffon, pearl stringer Nathalie Miclos, jeweller and design specialist Catherine Villeneuve, EGM's professional and invaluable teaching assistants Alexa Hollaar and Jacinthe Emond, and many others.
EGM is proud to offer students the opportunity to learn from a team of outstanding and dedicated professionals.
