The Montreal School of Gemmology (EGM) is a private school located in the heart of Montreal, close to the Place des Arts and Place Ville Marie. Situated at 400 de Maisonneuve Boulevard West, EGM is part of a sizeable gem and jewellery complex, sharing space with the Montreal School of Jewellery . Founded by Odile Civitello, GG, FGA, EGM provides a dynamic education option for anyone who wants to become a professional gemmologist or gemmologist appraiser, upgrade his or her knowledge, or simply become acquainted with precious stones. EGM instructors are graduates of recognized institutions and are active in the gem and jewellery trade. EGM is an Allied Teaching Centre of the British gemmological association and works in close cooperation with the Canadian Gemmological Association, the Gemological Institute of America and both Quebec and Canadian jewellers' associations. The EGM lab includes ten fully equiped working stations for identification training as well as an excellent collection of lab gems. EGM is recognized as a teaching organization both by the provincial and the federal ministry of revenue and can issue official receipts for income tax purpose. Top of page
